Why me?
I am an educator with the experience and expertise to get you where you need. Over the last 7 years of my life I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in a variety of educational environments and meet students where they are. During my undergraduate career I worked as a teaching assistant for the University of Arizona's math department. Following this, I worked as a content tutor for students at the Think Tank. Beginning in the Fall of 2020, I started my work at Alta Vista High School teaching a population of students who had historically struggled with mathematics and pushed for their success. Concurrently with my teaching work I began independently tutoring online and have been doing so to this very day. My years of experience across many subjects, ranging from algebra 1 to real analysis, has given me the opportunity to learn how to explain concepts at a level appropriate for any given student and meet them where they are. Alongside this, my research and graduate education have made me an expert in the field.
Testimonials
Christian taught my son Linear Algebra and he was very happy with the concepts he learnt during his session. He is prepared for class after missing his lecture due to being ill. Thank you! — Deepa, Linear Algebra
Christian worked with my son on Vector Calculus (Calculus III.) My son said Christian explained concepts clearly and was very helpful. — Laura, Calculus 3
Whenever new concepts were introduced, I would initially find them confusing. However, they are simplified and broken down really well, which makes them much easier to comprehend. — FA25 Course Survey, Discrete Math
Christian helped my daughter prepare for her Calculus 3 final exam in 2 sessions. Christian was very organized and reviewed and explained key concepts in a manner that was very helpful. My daughter is now prepared going into her final exam. Thank you! — Victoria, Calculus 3
Christian Cooper is an asset. I have had PhD's who don't explain complicated concepts as clearly as he does. He presents things in a real laid back manner which makes it easy to learn. — FA24 Course Survey, Discrete Math
Rates
I am a firm believer that everyone who seeks for and wants access to a quality education should be able to get one. That holds true even when burdened by financial hardship or external circumstances. Because of this, I try to offer my tutoring services at different rates dependent on student needs. My rates generally split into the two categories outlined below.
Reduced Rate

| One-on-one Hourly (In-Person, Tucson) | $30.00 |
| One-on-one Hourly (Online) | $25.00 |

| Group Hourly (Online) | $40.00 |

| One-on-one Hourly (Online) | $50.00 |
| Group Hourly (In-Person, Tucson) | $80.00 |
| Group Hourly (Online) | $70.00 |
Students who feel like the rates listed above are still restrictive for them are encouraged and welcome to contact me to negotiate one that works for you.
How do I know which rate I receive?
The rate you receive is entirely self-determined. I trust my clients to respect my time, content expertise, and my own personal need to make ends meet. If you believe that the standard rate is within your means, I encourage you to request my services at that rate. If the standard rate would put too much of a financial burden on you, please request the reduced rate.
How are the services different between the two rates?
The services are identical. The differences between pricing are only to encourage students and parents who might not otherwise be able to afford tutoring to get the help they deserve.
How do the group rates depend on size?
The group rate is intended for students who want to plan a study session or lesson and split the cost. The rate does not change based on the number of students. I will tutor groups of up to 8 students at this rate, but students are encouraged to keep in mind that larger groups means less opportunity for individual attention. Students are also encouraged to factor in group size and individual cost when determining which rate they select.
Policies
Academic Integrity
Policies
My tutoring services respect school and course academic integrity policies. I will not do student homework assignments. A student may come to their session with a homework assignment to start as a baseline, but any problems we do will be modifications of the original work to be similar but distinct in that case. I care about making sure that the students who come my way get the most out of their session. That means ensuring they complete their assigned work independently and receive accurate assessments from their instructors.
Cancellation
Students are required to provide a 24 hour notice of cancellation. Barring extentuating circumstances, a cancellation within less than 24 hours of the scheduled date and time will result in no refund. Students may reschedule with no penalty. These policies are in place because sudden cancellations occur where I otherwise could have scheduled a student in that given time slot.
Behavior and Conduct
Students are expected to be engaged, willing to learn, and respectful. If at any time a students behavior is aggressive, discriminatory, or borders on harassment I reserve the right to end the session. Moreover, I reserve the right to refuse to provide my services to a student in the longer term based on individual behavior.
